Description of Salisbury Cathedral On A Stormy Day

This is a painting of Salisbury Cathedral in England. It was inspired by a similar work painted by my favorite British painter John Constable. It was the first in, and the inspiration for, a series of cathedral and church paintings and sketches.

It is a summer day but the sky has already darkened because of an incoming storm. The stone exterior of Salisbury Cathedral appears bright against the stormy grey sky. A man can be seen in the field taking a shortcut home in an effort to get there before the storm.

It is a larger painting at 36 x 42 inches and is painted on a gallery style canvas and can be hung with or without a frame.
