Here are a few of my artworks. They are a mixture of original works and master copies of some of my favorite artists’ paintings.

The Reader
I painted this master copy of “The Reader” by Pierre-Auguste Renoir because it is one of my favorite impressionist works. Renoir uses a rich color pallet and amazing brushwork to create his masterpieces. Oil on wood panel. 18.5 x 14.5 in.
Flag Day - 5th Ave in the Rain
This painting is a master copy of a work by the American Impressionist Childe Hassam. The original hung in the Oval Office during the Obama presidency. Oil on canvas. 46 x 24 in.
Villa Torre Galli the Loggia
I painted this master copy of a work by my favorite painter, John Singer Sargent. The premier portrait painter of his time, he painted presidents Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, as well as Henry James and the Vanderbilt family, to name a few. Oil on canvas. 30 x 24 in.
The Broken Bow
This is an original still life of a violin, its case, and a bow that has been broken either from great use or age. Graphite on paper. 22 x 17 in.
Portrait of a Young Girl
This painting was a commission by a friend to paint his daughter. Oil on canvas. 18 x 24 in.
Fall in New Hampshire
This is an original painting inspired by a friend’s photo of her vacation in New Hampshire. Oil on canvas. 36 x 24 in.

I painted this master copy of another work by my favorite painter, John Singer Sargent. Oil on canvas. 18 x 24 in.
Kari
This is a portrait of my partner, Kari, done as a scribble sketch with conte’ crayon and graphite. It was inspired by the tonal scribble drawings of Georges Seurat.

Salisbury Cathedral
I painted this master copy of a John Constable painting thought to be a study for his famous 1823 painting of Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire, England. Oil on canvas. 36 x 24 in.
Young Woman in Paris
This is an original pastel painting of a young woman leaning against a building in Paris. Colored pastel chalk on paper. 18 x 24 in.
Message in a Bottle
This painting is of a ship’s captain’s quarters, and there are all the tools needed for a trip: a map, a compass, and a looking glass, but there is also a message in a bottle. Did he find the message of some poor stranded soul, or is he preparing it in case his voyage ends in disaster? This is a vanitas painting meant to reflect on the fragility of life.

This is an original painting of lilacs in a copper pot with grapes in a bowl in the foreground. Oil on canvas. 24 x 18 in.
Saudade
This is an original sketch entitled Saudade, a Portuguese word which describes a deep, melancholic longing for a person or relationship that is gone and may be impossible to have again. Graphite on paper. 18 x 14 in.
